What is FCU?
A fan coil unit (FCU) is a device used for heating and cooling in buildings. It is typically part of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and is commonly found in hotels, apartments, offices, and other commercial or residential spaces.
What are the components inside FCU?
Fan: The fan inside the unit draws air from the surrounding space and passes it through the unit for conditioning.
Heat Exchanger: The heat exchanger in the FCU can be either a cooling coil or a heating coil, depending on the mode of operation. The cooling coil contains chilled water or refrigerant to cool the air passing through, while the heating coil contains hot water or steam to heat the air.
Filter: A filter is usually present to remove dust, allergens, and other particles from the air before it is conditioned and delivered back into the space.
Controls: The FCU may have controls, such as a thermostat or control panel, that allow users to adjust the temperature, fan speed, and other settings.
